The history of Hotel Restaurant Kaiserhof in Anif dates back around 700 years. In as early as 1348 its first owners are mentioned in the chronicles of Anif. The Kaiserhof is said to have been the oldest "Taferne" - at that time pubs in the village of Anif - Niederalm. It was part of the belongings of the Archbishops of Salzburg in those days.

Oral sources suggest that two very special guests stopped for a bite to eat in Kaiserhof at the beginning of the year 1856: Emperor Franz Josef and Empress Elisabeth - renowned as Sissi - together with their entire imperial household. These prominent guests were most probably the reason for Kaiserhof to get its name.

The legendary days of "Kaiserranch"

Around 50 years ago a dance bar was set up at the very spot of today's Kaiserbar - the legendary Kaiserranch, where numerous glorious festivities took place. Many a celebrity regularly stopped by for a few drinks or a dance and live music.

The transformation to a modern three-star-hotel

In 2001 the Kaiserhof finally found its current hosts - the Absenger family took over. Generous investments and renovation works have made the hotel shine in new glamour. The new Superior rooms in the Bel Etage, the tres chique Kaiserbar and the modern seminar area are unequalled.

Present time - Environmental care & sustainability

The Kaiserhof Anif is not only comfortable and modern, but also stands for sustainability. For more than 10 years, the heart of host Richard Absenger has been beating for e-mobility. Throughout Europe, the Kaiserhof has made a name for itself as an e-car-friendly hotel. The Kaiserhof has been a partner of "klima aktiv" since 2017. The electricity used in hotel operations comes 100 percent from renewable energies. A photovoltaic system on the roof generates clean electricity. Regional foods set the tone in the kitchen. Only organic products are served at the breakfast buffet.
