Location & Directions to Kaiserhof Anif

The Kaiserhof Anif is ideally located just outside Salzburg, in the Niederalm district (municipality of Anif). Despite the quiet, green surroundings, we are easily accessible - whether you arrive by car, public transport or even by bike.

Arrival by car:

From the highway A10 (Tauernautobahn):

Take the Salzburg Süd exit (Exit 8). Follow the signs towards Anif (B 160 / Salzachtal-Bundesstraße). After approx. 3 km on this main road you will reach the village of Niederalm. The Kaiserhof is clearly visible on the left-hand side. The drive from the highway exit takes about 5 minutes.

From the city of Salzburg:

Take the Alpenstraße out of town in the direction of Anif. Pass Hellbrunn Zoo and in Anif turn left onto the B 259 and continue in the direction of Hallein. After entering Niederalm you will see the Kaiserhof on the left-hand side. Distance from the outskirts of Salzburg approx. 5 km (10 minutes).

From the direction of Hallein/Bischofshofen:

Take the Salzachtal-Bundesstraße (B 159) in the direction of Salzburg. In Niederalm (municipality of Anif) you will find us on the right-hand side shortly after the “Anif” sign, after you have crossed the Königsseeache.

Parking at the Hotel Kaiserhof in Anif:

There are over 60 free parking spaces available on the hotel grounds. These also include designated bus parking spaces (for tour groups) and special e-charging parking spaces. If you are arriving with an electric car, you can charge your vehicle at our electric charging stations or Tesla Superchargers. Hotel guests charge their car at a special price. Ask at reception for details.

Compulsory vignette in Austria

If you are coming from Germany via the highway - pay attention to the vignette requirement in Austria. There are vignette sales points just before the border. A 10-day vignette is usually enough for your vacation.

Arrival by public transportation

By train:

The nearest train station is Salzburg main station, approx. 12 kilometers from the Hotel Kaiserhof Anif. From the main station, you can take bus line 170, 175 or 35 in the direction of “Hallein” or “Untersbergbahn” directly to the hotel in Anif. Get off at the Niederalm Ortsmitte stop. The bus stop is about 150 meters from the hotel. The bus ride takes approx. 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a cab from the main train station. The journey time is approximately 15 minutes).

By long-distance bus:

Some long-distance buses such as Flixbus stop at the Salzburg Süd - Park&Ride stop. From there it is only 4 kilometers to the hotel. The journey takes about 5 minutes by cab. If you continue by bus, change to line 170 in the direction of Anif.

By plane:

Salzburg Airport, W.A. Mozart (SZG) is about 15 kilometers away. From the airport it is best to take a cab (approx. 20 minutes) or the bus to the main train station and from there continue as described above. We offer an airport transfer service for our guests for an additional charge and on request. Please book the transfer in advance and a driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall.

By bike or on foot:

For sports enthusiasts, a wonderful cycle and footpath leads from Salzburg to the hotel, along Alpenstraße/Hellbrunner Allee to Anif. From the outskirts of the city (Hellbrunn Palace) it is about 3 kilometers of pleasant, flat route to the Kaiserhof - also ideal for joggers or e-bikers. We have covered parking spaces for bicycles, a lockable room and an e-bike charging station.

Location description of the Hotel Kaiserhof

The Kaiserhof is located in the Niederalm district directly on the old Salzach Valley main road, nestled between meadows and the Untersberg massif. The surroundings are quiet and green. At the same time, the hotel is conveniently located. The highway is close enough for quick connections, but far enough away not to hear it.

In the surrounding area:

Close to the hotel you will find two supermarkets (Billa and Lidl) and a bank branch (with ATM). There is also a pharmacy, a hairdresser and several restaurants nearby. The village square Niederalm with the weekly market is 200 m away and the center of the municipality Anif (with church and municipal office) is about 2 km away.
